Illustrator, Sheri Lennon, sat in her studio

About Sheri

I’ve drawn for as long as I can remember — more intentionally, I sometimes think, than breathing. Drawing and painting have always been at the centre of my life, and while my interests are wide-ranging, they’re united by a deep love of illustration and visual storytelling.

After 13 years as a Principal Teacher of Art and Creativity, I am now living the dream: focusing fully on my own artistic practice from my garden studio in South West Scotland.

I studied Textile and Fashion Design in the Scottish Borders, where my natural inclination for illustration was first recognised. Although illustration spent many years as a “side hustle,” it has always been an active and evolving part of my creative life. My curiosity for the discipline has led me to explore a broad range of styles and approaches — a richness I now embrace while refining my artistic focus.

For the past 12 years, my primary passion has been picture book illustration, though life’s serendipity has also brought wonderfully varied projects my way. I’ve had the pleasure of working with unique clients including NuPrimary, a textile company in New York; Dumfries & Galloway Life magazine; and director and playwright David E. Talbert. Each collaboration has added a new layer to my practice and kept my work dynamic and evolving.

I’m especially excited for the publication of David E. Talbert’s memoir in 2027 (Penguin Random House), which will feature chapter illustrations by me — so watch this space.

You’re very welcome here. Have a look around, and if you have a project in mind, I’d love to work with you.
